| The impression of the school and the pupils, the impression of the people in Shanghai,
their thinking, their behaviour, the feeling of living and finding my way in such a big city, to work and spend time
with different people and much more. So I really did great experiences during my time here and I learned a lot.

| Now, at the end of my stay, I feel sad. I will miss so many people from all over the world, my children, street noodles, etc.
I think I developed in this 3 months like I never would be able to at home... This project was exactly the experience I needed
and I will surely come back... |

Spring, 2011 |
| I am at home now, sleeping in my own bed in my own room, eating with knife and fork. A lot of things are different between Shanghai
life and my life at home. But I notice that stronger now than when I came to Shanghai. |

| There were the cornflakes in the picture and
some pupils did not know them. I then decided to have a Western breakfast the next morning. The French Carrefour store was close
to our flat. I got a box of cornflakes, simple bowls, toast, butter etc. The following morning we moved some tables together
and pretended to be at the breakfast table. |

| A normal day started depending on the lessons between 8.00 and 12.30. My first lesson began suddenly.
I got my translated timetable and knew the classroom I had to go to. As I stepped in front of the Class a spontaneous
hurricane of applause started. Obviously they seem to like their new German teacher with the long blond
(“yellow”) hair (“like a Vampire”) |

| Jinwei was being a show-off today and I was doing just the same, singing his favourite
song in a very loud voice...he's so happy when I sing for him! You have no idea how beautiful it is to
see him laughing, it's such a small thing but it really makes my day! |

Spring 2009
|
| Every day I held
some English lessons with them. Since they were young (between 3-6), I had to come up with games that would motivate
them to speak English. It went very well, the children were highly motivated and had lots of fun. There is also always
some teacher around you to give support if it is needed. |

| No words can express what you feel, when you know
that you can offer those children some nice moments. A small "piece of you" that you give them, as
tiny as it may be, gives back an enormous reward, a unique feeling of doing something so precious, so worthwhile!! |
