AkarakA helps underprivileged children and young adults get a formal education, through the financial support of individuals like you. They also help pair their students with supervising mentors from the corporate world.
EMCC is committed to enabling people to lead better lives through its range of services. Established in 1997 to provide counseling and mediation services to the community, EMCC is today a full member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC). One of the region’s foremost organizations that pioneered family mediation and training, it has been appointed to provide specialized mediation service at the Tribunal for Maintenance of Parents and the Family Court. EMCC is one of the few agencies in the region with expertise to provide integrative services in mediation and psychotherapy.
SAVH is formerly known as the Singapore Association for the Blind (SAB). It is a voluntary welfare organization, founded in 1951. They are keen to help the Visually Impaired help themselves by acquiring new skills and gaining self reliance to cope with their integration into society.
CARE is a registered charity and a youth development agency established in 1997. For the last 10 years, CARE has been providing school-based social work services, reaching out to primary and secondary youths at risk of academic failure, behavior problems, emotional maladjustment, self-harm or delinquency.
IB is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization founded in 2000 that strives to protect due process and achieve fair trials for the accused throughout the world. In countries where governmental commitment to human rights principles have, as of yet, failed to meet its practical goal, IBJ fills the gap between human rights legislation and domestic implementation.
Interns ou will live in our volunteers' flat and take public transportation to their job every day. The flat has shared rooms with showers.
You will need to buy or cook your own meals every day. There are many food courts near the flat. Meals usually costs between 3 to 5 Singapore dollars.
