Every Shanghai-area Xu Bo volunteer and staff had been looking forward to the International Dinner for a long time and it became a reality on the evening on July 17, 2009. We had German, Dutch, Irish, Norwegian, and Chinese dishes. About 20 people shared the dinner and everyone was very, very happy when they were eating and talking. A gallery of photos from the event appears at the bottom of this page.
It was really a fantastic dinner and every one was involved in it. Each person made one or two dishes and tried about five country's foods in return. The dishes included: Dutch peaches, German potatoes, Korean fish, Chinese dishes, Belgian dessert, and some British snacks. Delicious! No one will forget the dinner and the special new friends in our lives. It was a great opportunity for volunteers from all over the world to meet new friends and learn about each other's cultures. If you come to volunteer with us in China, this is one of the types of events you will treasure.
