Internship in the USA with Center for Cultural Exchange (CCI)

Spend your summer living and working in the Chicago area. Our interns learn American business practices through hands-on experiences in volunteer internships of up to four months in their field of study. In general, internship assignments are with small companies in the greater Chicago area, where you will gain invaluable experience as you learn about the American business world, U.S. culture and yourself.

INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT

While job descriptions will vary, responsibilities might include 35 to 40 hours per week of general office duties such as data entry, interacting with customers and working on special company projects.

LOCATION

Each CCI intern is offered a volunteer business placement with a company in the greater Chicago area. One of the largest cities in the U.S., Chicago offers world-class arts, culture and entertainment and boasts some of the finest architecture and educational institutions in the country.

ACCOMODATION

Participants must make housing arrangements prior to their arrival and inform CCI of their address in the U.S. CCI can assist participants in securing housing in a dormitory or hostel. A limited number of homestay placements are also available.

FULL PROGRAM OPTION INCLUDES

   Volunteer internship placement for 1 to 4 months in Chicago
   Orientation upon arrival to Chicago
   Support of a CCI representative
   Medical and accident insurance
   DS-2019 form to assist in obtaining a J-1 Work & Travel visa

NOT INCLUDED

   Accommodation
   Transportation to and from internship

REQUIREMENTS

   Be between 18 to 28 years old
   Upper intermediate level of English
   Currently enrolled in a program of post-secondary study in your home country (graduated students
      are not eligible)
   Able to complete the internship during their university’s main break
   Able to apply at least 16 weeks prior to desired arrival date

关于退款，签证拒签和取消申请的问题

通常情况下，我们CCI是很少拒 绝申请人的，如果发生了这样 的情况我们将全额退款

以下是我们的签证拒签条款

拒签：如果已经被接受的申请人 遭到大使馆拒签，那么将会有 一笔特殊的项目取消费退还。 如果学生被拒，CCI在预定项目程 序正式开始的时间之前得知， 那么退还费为100美元。如果在项 目程序开始后两周内得知，退 还费是150美元。如果超过两周之 后申请人都未告之被拒签，那 么申请人将得不到任何偿还费 用。一旦我方收到申请人的DS-2019表 格，将立即办理偿还事宜。如果 我方没有受到DS-2019表格，将不予办 理。

注意，申请人需要在抵达前的 4周将所有费用付清以便完成 DS-2019表格。

CCI的取消章程如下：

取消章程：假如在申请人已经 到达美国后取消项目，那么将 得不到任何偿还费用。（不管 是我方还是申请人自己决定取消 ）假如申请人在还没有到达美国 之前，并且已经完成了申请程序 的情况下提出取消项目，将会有 225美元的退还费。申请人假如已 经被安排了具体实习项目之后 取消，退还300美元。

SEVIS费用：此费用为派遣组织负责 。并不包含在项目价目表里面 ，因此在发票里面会被分列出来。

所以基本上来说，假如申请者在 已经付费后又决定取消实习项目 ，那么将会有偿还，并且有适度 的取消费用列如发票里面。

关于项目的问题

申请者在出发前是否知道自己所 去的是哪所公司？并且CCI是否会 发邮件给申请者们关于公司的 具体信息？

是的。


是由学生选择公司呢，还是有 CCI或者公司选择实习者？

CCI将会确定出一所适合实习者的 公司。申请人自己不能做主 ，因为不可能找得出一所公司 适合所有的候选者。


公司会安排电话面试么？

有些公司要求但是有的不。

关于从住宿到公司的交通费用问题

通常从住宿到公司的交通 费是多少呢？

在2到5美元一次。取决于是地铁，公 车还是市郊往返车。

关于机场接机的问题

CCI将会负责接机吗？

如果交75美元的话是可以安排接机 的，但是一般情况下，直接打 车去借宿家庭会更便宜的。

关于零用钱的问题

建议带多少零花钱？

关于申请的最后期限问题

大多数的中国学生会在夏季假期 申请，7月和8月，这是可以的吗?

是可以的。但是我们要求在开 始之前至少4个月就提出申请 。2009年我们将预计接收5名实习者。
