What's Happening in Your City?

Shanghai Events

Shanghai offers much to see and we have highlighted some of the more interesting events in the monthly calendars shown below. Just click on the month of interest to download the calendar to your computer.

Other websites that provide useful information about events in the Shanghai area include Shanghai Events - City Weekend Guide, Smart Shanghai, and Shanghai Expat - Living and Working in Shanghai.

Suzhou Events

For volunteers working in the Suzhou area, there is a website called What's On in Suzhou? that has useful information about events in Suzhou, such as sporting events, movie times, and special performances. A fun place to visit in Suzhou is The Chinese Bookworm which is sort of a combined restaurant/coffee house/library with many English books you can borrow ( click here for their website.) Of course, on weekends, you might also be able to attend special events in Shanghai (see the Shanghai calendar below.)

Zhengzhou Events

ZhengZhou area volunteers can find useful information about what's happening in ZhengZhou on the China Highlights webpage for ZhengZhou.

Mianyang Area Events

Mianyang city has no online calendar that we know of so please consult with local teachers at your school to find out more about what's happening in Mianyang. Nearby Chengdu has many events and attractions and China Highlights for Chengdu is a good online reference.
